Who is Tanna Larson?

The visionary, mastermind, and creator of The Green Forest Lady, Tanna Larson, is every bit the embodiment of what the company stands for pure, clean, always organic products that promote a healthy state of being. She has spent years studying, reading, and furthering her knowledge around herbs and plant medicine, a subject she is deeply passionate about. Her products are all original recipes she created out of a love and need for simple, pure ingredients and perfected over a period of 9 years. She spends most of her days home schooling, adventuring, foraging, exploring the local forests, and hiking with her children and in her kitchen cooking up wholesome, paleo meals.

In less than three sentences tell us about your company and what you do.

Handcrafted from start to finish using the highest quality organic herbs, oils, and butters, the Green Forest Lady products are deeply healing, nourishing, and soothing. Our zero compromise promise means that our products are always made with non-toxic, non-gmo, gluten free, pure, fair-trade, sustainable, and ecologically responsible ingredients straight from Mother Earth. The herbs are infused into raw, cold pressed oils for use according to their specific properties using a very low heat method, then gently prepared into rich and wholesome balms that can be used by the entire family. Our motto: Good for your body, good for the Earth.

At what point did you make your company a full time gig? How did you know the time was right?

2 years ago I made my company a full time endeavor. My youngest baby was 2 years old and being out of the infant stage freed up a bit more time for me to dedicate myself to The Green Forest Lady's growth.

Let’s talk social media—who handles it for your company (you, an internal team member, an outsourced solution?) and what is the secret to making it successful? What is the biggest challenge?

For the last year, and outsourced company was handling my social media. I have just made the transition to handle it myself. I believe the secret is putting out personal, relatable content and actively engaging with the community that has been built while building brand awareness. The biggest challenge is the time it takes to baby it, finding the right online community and keeping up with the new trends, algorithms, and changes continually implemented by social media companies.

How do you support other female founders and women in business?

I believe fully in empowering other female founders and women in business in community, sharing what they offer to the world, as well as supporting financially by making concious purchases. Viewing myself as an ally and supporter and not a competitor is something I feel is an important message.

What does BEING a FoundHer mean to you?

It means following my unique path and calling to being something beautiful and meaningful to the world. Something that celebrates and showcases our connection to nature, the helps to bring light to how we can break free from the current oversaturated world of toxic products, and that supports women during some of the most sacres and vulnerable season of their life: motherhood.
