Sallie Holder, Founder of The BRIMM
Name: Sallie Holder
Founder: The BRIMM
Who is Sallie Holder?
Sallie Holder is the founder and CEO of The BRIMM, a business growth company that is shaping the future of how female founded companies operate. Through the creation of her Revenue Accelerator Method and innovative way of delivering that information through industry experts and female founders, she provides the secret sauce and best kept business secrets to explosive growth.
In less than three sentences tell us about your company and what you do.
We focus on the growth of female entrepreneurs by connecting them with the social, financial, and human capital they need to succeed no matter the stage of their business.
What does BEING a FoundHer mean to you?
It means showing others what's possible. I'm not a unicorn, creating a scalable thriving business as a woman is possible for anyone.
How do you support other female founders and women in business?
We work directly with female founders across industries to provide a sense of community and bring them out of the isolation and overwhelm they feel on a daily basis.
At what point did you make your company a full time gig? How did you know the time was right?
I began coaching women in business quite organically while operating as the COO of many other companies. I decided to make it full time 4 years ago.
What lesson or skill did you take with you from a prior job to help you succeed in your role today?
In my prior career as a lawyer and former COO I focused on revenue generation for Fortune 500 companies. I was able to bring the knowledge of the systems and processes used at the larger companies and teach women how to implement them into their own businesses.
Let’s talk social media—who handles it for your company (you, an internal team member, an outsourced solution?) and what is the secret to making it successful? What is the biggest challenge?
My internal marketing director. The biggest challenge is consistency. The secret to making it successful is being authentic. If you want to be a thought leader you need to be willing to share your thoughts and opinions on things.
How did you land your first client?
Word of mouth.
What is something you do differently from the industry standard?
The BRIMM is made up of industry experts that have become coaches and we have mastermind groups across verticals. Most coaches are not also running 7+ figure (retail, interior, and consulting) businesses at the same time so it's really a chance for entrepreneurs to learn from those that have done the things they are trying to do.
Did you raise capital? What was the process and avenue you chose to take?
The BRIMM did not complete an initial raise, but does employ a line business line of credit.
What would you do differently if you were starting your business today?
Nothing, all of the things that I did gave me the experience and learning to get to where I am now.
What are three strategies you use to market your business, grow brand awareness and generate bottom line growth?
Event sponsorships
Strategic partnerships
Social media collaborations
What was an obstacle you overcame to get your business where it is today?
One of the largest obstacles I overcame was simply making the pivot from my former career as a lawyer. I had all of the outward signs of success and should have been happy but wasn't fulfilled. It was terrifying to leave that behind and start on the path to something else after the years of time and energy I spent there. Simply believe I could chart another path to my true passion and purpose is what started everything and created The BRIMM, which stands for The Beyond Rock Middle Movement.
