In less than three sentences tell us about your company and what you do.

At Godfrey Social PR, we have over 20 years of experience discovering brands and bringing them into the limelight. Our unique and personalized advocacy marketing and public relations services focus on WHO your brand is, not just WHAT you sell.

What does BEING a FoundHer mean to you?

To me, being a FoundHER means flexibility, freedom, and creativity, but also a little dose of stress, and uncertainty. It’s exciting and tough; the light and the dark wrapped up together. Being a founder of my own business truly gives me the space to create, build and collaborate with amazing businesses and people while also being present for my kids.

How do you support other female founders and women in business?

I think the nature of what my business does in Public Relations and the fact that we have many women business owners and founders as clients, has allowed me to get female founders the recognition they deserve by creating brand awareness for their businesses. Beyond these female founded businesses hiring us to do their PR, we get to know the women we represent on a very personal level, and we go above and beyond to try and really lift them up and elevate what they are doing. We are alongside these female founders and part of their journey’s for many years, which is very inspiring and fulfilling.

What lesson or skill did you take with you from a prior job to help you succeed in your role today?

I learned early on that I am a people person. I love to build relationships and connect people with each other. This has helped me land great clients and keep them long term. I also deeply care about my clients so it’s really important to me that they are happy with my agency’s work and results, and that they always feel well taken care of and supported by me and my team.

What is something you do differently from the industry standard?

My business is a smaller (but very mighty!) boutique agency so I am able to build more personal connections and communicate daily with our clients. My team and I are constantly in touch with our clients, whether it be via video Zoom, quick phone calls, email exchanges or even texts. I also really enjoy getting to meet with my clients in person when the time allows!

What was an obstacle you overcame to get your business where it is today? Please share the story behind it.

Delegating; I used to do everything myself and once I learned how to delegate and hire talented people, my business was really able to take off. As much as I thought I could do it all, I really couldn't handle everything myself, nor did I want to.
