Who is Jill Weissman?

I'm a driven mom of two from Long Island, NY. Balancing the demands of parenthood, a full-time career, and the exhilarating journey of launching my startup, I'm on a mission to realize my lifelong dream of being an entrepreneur. In addition to wearing many hats, I'm committed to being a loving wife, dedicated daughter, fun aunt, and loyal friend, all while (learning!) to embrace the chaos of life.

In less than three sentences tell us about your company and what you do.

Beyond the Bib sauces are toddler-friendly versions of adult favorites, designed to introduce the littlest eaters to exciting new flavors all with ingredients parents don't have to second guess. Our sauces are specially crafted for toddlers and young children, jam-packed with veggies, herbs, and spices, and free from added sugar, salt, or anything artificial. You can use our sauces to kickstart a meal or simply as delicious dips on their own.

What does BEING a FoundHer mean to you?

To me, being a foundher means creating something from nothing. It means having a vision and the drive to make it a reality. It means being willing to take risks and to learn from my mistakes. Most importantly, being a foundher means being brave and believing in myself.

How do you support other female founders and women in business?

I actively champion fellow female founders by sharing their content on social media, advocating for their products and services within my network, attending their events, and offering mentorship to emerging women entrepreneurs.

What lesson or skill did you take with you from a prior job to help you succeed in your role today?

Ask questions! For me, every conversation, connection, or casual coffee chat is an opportunity to grow as a founder, a leader, and as a woman. I firmly believe that knowledge is power, and I continually build upon the insights gained from every role I've held. I also see feedback as a gift, knowing that every bit of it helps me move closer to my goals.

What was an obstacle you overcame to get your business where it is today? Please share the story behind it.

My daily struggle is the fear of failure, but I stay focused on progress, taking one step at a time in the demanding journey of building a startup alongside a household and a conventional job. My biggest challenge was launching my business while seven months pregnant. But I believe in my company's vision so wholeheartedly it fueled my determination, even as I anticipated the life-changing chapter ahead.
