What does BEING a FoundHer mean to you?

Being a FoundHer means following my passion of numbers while also balancing my life at home. Once I decided to start my own venture I knew it would be hard work and I am so proud of what I have accomplished. Being a FoundHer also means succeeding as a business professional, wife and mother. I am currently raising 2 sons and a daughter and hope that one day they will all see how hard I have worked to get to where I am today in my business.

How do you support other female founders and women in business?

I love working with other female founders and taking the stress of tracking their numbers off of their shoulders.

At what point did you make your company a full time gig? How did you know the time was right?

When I started my company in November 2019 I has two very little kids and the plan was to work through nap time. I was able to do this and eventually once my kids were able to attend preschool I was able to grow my business and work through preschool hours. It was always my goal to grow my business as my children grew. My work still is not considered full time, however it fills the majority of the time my kids are in childcare. I hope to continue to grow my business as my children grow.

How did you land your first client?

When I was considering starting my own venture and leaving my role at a public accounting firm I met with a woman entrepreneur whose business focuses on tax services. She assured me that if I decided to move ahead with my own bookkeeping and accounting venture that the work would come. After meeting with her I decided to go for it (after carefully reviewing my personal financials) and I let her know of my decision. Within a week she gave me the name of one of her clients who had bookkeeping needs. I started working on their books within the month and my business continued to grow from there.
